so, i drove to st. augustine yesterday for an against me! show... and it was sold out. i blame it on richard plyman. i asked off more than a week ago and he said flat-out no, then sent me home when i got to work yesterday. i got excited and just headed down there. seriously, i have to stop trying to see that band. it's always a disaster.

the first time i saw them i left my wallet on top of my car while pumping gas on the southside in savannah and didn't realize until i was trying to pay for the show. i had to go all the way back (a good half hour drive) to find my wallet sprawled all over abercorn and dodge traffic to retrieve the contents. even though that brought me back within a few blocks of home, i was like, fuck that and went back to the show. by myself. and had a lot of fun. my wallet did not feel the same way.

then there's that time that i drove the van to augusta to pick ryan up on the way to an anti-flag/against me! show in atlanta. well, almost. it broke down a few miles shy of augusta. we went to atlanta in his car anyway, but only caught anti-flag. and you know i love some anti-flag (i may actually be an angsty preteen boy with a black hoodie underneath my tye-died exterior) but anti-flag is no against me! whatsoever. those are the worst cases, but i've never had an easy going against me! experience. maybe it's just because i've never had an easy going experience PERIOD.

anywho, other things are going on too, but i don't feel like sitting here anymore.

ahem

morningstar treatment center, with coordinating help from the american red cross, will be accepting refugees from the hurricane katrina disaster, arriving as early as wednesday. rumor is that some will be orphans. one family is already at an airport in atlanta. many of them will only have the clothes on their backs when they arrive in brunswick. 45 beds have been donated and a space to house people rent-free for 6 months. there will still be considerable costs for utilities, food, and other necessities. there are no sheets for the beds. my dad said that he would give me a list of the supplies that they need, but he left to play golf instead, so i'll wing it and list a few things that he mentioned:

twin sized bedding
non-perishable food items
clothes
batteries
books/magazines
deoderant
soap
toothbrushes/toothpaste
toys
...money...

i mean, it's kinda common sense. if you have anything to donate, please drop it off at the blockbuster video on st. simons or contact me for more information.

blockbuster is also donating money straight to the american red cross through our company. if you're low on cash but looking for a way to help, you can trade any DVDs that you don't want anymore with us and we'll donate $5 for each one. can anyone raid tom bagby's house? we might be able to feed half of louisiana.

and serioulsy... don't think you won't get free rentals or late fees taken off for this. i'm a reasonable person. just make sure richard isn't standing there.
