wheel of fortune

today in class my friend karol with a "k" asked the guy sitting in front of me if he would mind telling her what he kept in the journal he had on his desk. i was half paying attention, simultaneously reading the extra credit newsweek article i'd have to explain in a few minutes, when i heard the words, "tarot readings." this guy has been keeping detailed track of his regular tarot card readings for several months in a journal and plans on continuing to at least the year mark. his goal is to see patterns and any correlation between the readings and his life, which he HAS already, by the way. he also noted that he would have liked to go into a religious line of work but his parents have pressured him to pursue marriage, kids, and a career based on salary. this guy is seriously straight out of a weezer concert and seems pretty smart. people are so surprising and interesting. i'm going to suggest on monday that he make the journal a zine.

things that have been happening:

-super skils in copying and pasting to list magic card sets. pretty soon i'm going to have the easiest and most convenient job that a student could ask for AND be raking in the dough. so, keep making fun of it, JERKS.
-it's been nice sleeping in, but i will take on the role of "miss mary" next week when i start a few weeks of babysitting for the thompsons during the day. 3 kids. 8 am til 5 or 6 pm. so far the only crafty activity i have planned is a snowman birthday cake for me (because i make them celebrate my birthday every year. so?)
-kevin is engaged and i'm thrilled for him. he's found someone that can put up with him on a permanent basis and i believe that chris is a saint for that reason alone, haha. it's nice to see friends making smart and positive moves. growin' up. we used to get kicked out ("banned" might have been the word) from gay clubs for bawdy behavior and underage drinking. now we have a brunch date on sunday morning in some obscenely steril atlanta yuppie-magnet of a restaurant. oh, kev.
-caroline made an A in her amost-impossible-to-make-an-A-in photo class! yay her. i can't wait to see what kind of photojournalistic work she produces in the long run. but the other sister asked me to help her with an economics take home final, so i read the case study for 2 hours and wrote up some graphs for her. then she cancelled working on it yesterday to hang out with brucey. THEN she told me today that she's just going to copy someone elses. quit bein' a slackjaw, ya know?
-there's been a lot of bo fahs and associates in my life. it's pretty fun and hilarious... when i'm not the bane of josh raiford's existence. basically, things are looking up for me and i love all of the new people i've been hanging out with. amanda and them, too. amanda dunn is amazing and that's all there is to it.

well, i'm tired of writing and there are chores to be done before the night begins. i know this was all fucking fascninating, haha, right now is the moment where i choose to click the "publish post" button or just close the window and walk away...

oh, hey

lighting a cigarette, hurrying toward class, running through obstacles to fiscal policy in my head, i was almost the landing site of a ten foot branch this morning. the only warning i got was a solf-spoken, "go any further, you'll have quite a headache, darlin," by one of the tree limb amputation coordinators. the loud sawing should have tipped me off. it makes me wonder how much i've missed. it also makes me wonder how i've survived this far.

goodwill kicked ass yesterday. i don't want to go into detail on the christmas presents that i got caroline and lily, but i hope they like stirrup pants. seriously, you gotta take advantage of that blue tag special.

over and out.
